Thumbs down Zune software running ridiculously slow and using 100 CPU

So, when I have the Zune software running, it's showing that the Zune software is using about 99% of the CPU. To me, that just seems odd, because the Zune software...is Microsoft software, isn't it? When I kill the zune.exe process, the computer returns to running just fine, even with applications such as Firefox, AIM, and MSN Messenger all running, the CPU usage returns to about 5%. Sometimes when I start up Zune, the "svchost.exe" process jumps up to 100 CPU as well.

The actual software itself is lagging very slowly, and also, the software gets stuck at a certain percentage when converting videos for syncing, so I can't really sync any videos anymore. Any ideas on what might be causing this? I have 1.5GB RAM, 2.1GHz, so I'm not sure what it is. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, scanning for viruses and anything I can think of.

2.1GHz... Is that a dual-core processor of any kind? If it's not I can imagine having problems. The Zune software is a bit heavy. Aesthetically pleasing, but slow. It is a tad sluggish even on my PC which is 2GB of RAM and a 2.8GHz Pentium D, but not to the point where it's unusable.

Anyway, if you're not using the software, why not close it? I personally only use it for the purpose of syncing and use Winamp for listening to music on my PC.

There are options to minimize its lag on slower computers (actually, I really think they built this thing for quad cores and more - forward thinking folks, forward thinking). You can go into settings and change things like the screen animations and things to minimize some lag. I have a quad core and sometimes there's lag on it....but it blows my dual core away....
