Question Malicious Zune Software

I was playing my zune awhile back and I wanted to listen to some of my Dane Cook, but found that I had only one mp3 instead of a whole album, I was flabbergasted. I also found that my Faith No More was gone.... only a few songs left. This scared the crap out of me so I didn't want to connect it to my PC. I could not figure out how these files disappeared, since I did not delete them, and I have my software set up to sync on my command only.

So I finally summoned some courage and connected it, and lo and behold! I caught it in the act of maliciously eating my music. I had deleted a bunch of music that I didn't really want to listen to, and it removed that music, but in addition to those artists, it decided to eat my Fleetwood Mac, Chris Isaak, and some System of a Down. There is no reason or why for this, but I noticed that in my library on my PC the files were still there. So I dragged them to my Zune and it took them off the songs deleted and to songs added. *boggle* It also ate some Steve Miller Band but that didn't bother me so much(it has SOME taste at least j/k).

Can anyone tell me why my Zune wants to eat my music? Anyone that has had a similar experience? Is it a Microsoft conspiracy with record labels to delete music off my zune? Or do I just need to feed my Zune software more music at regular intervals? Please help, I'm afraid my zune will eat my roommate next...

Thanks for the help!
Xandrian

make sure the music is in the same location on your hard drive as when you first imported it into the zune sync program

I looked up the file locations.. I had changed some of the artist/album information around, but the folders containing them were still the same. It also seems to only delete about 90% of the songs of the particular artist. Very confusing...
