can i wipe my zune clean with software?

i keep gettin an error when i try to plug my zune into the the crappy 2.5 firmware.so is there any other program i can us to wipe it clean to get rid of the error..my zune needs a spring cleaning anyways..bytheway its not the cord the cord works just find..i want all the files to go...plz help a noob

Dunno why you'd need separate software. Have you tried this?
