Zune Software Will Not Install

I am interested in buying a Zune 80gb, so I tried to download the Zune software to see how I liked it. Every time I try to install it i get the same error message about it stopping due to a fatal error. I cannot find anything to help with this problem and was wondering if anyone new a possible solution. The attachment is a screen shot of the error message. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

to ZB hyperlite!

Make sure you have the newest windows updates and try using SZip as it will bypass most install errors.

Thanks for the welcome. I have tried that before. It will install the program but i get "Error 1406. Could not write value InstallGeold to key \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Zune\Setup. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your personnel support." And after I ignore that and open the program it will not play any music.

Sounds like there was a corrupt key left over.

Uninstall the software via add/remove programs, then running unzoone (link in my sig), reboot, then running the szip installer again.. might work.

I tried to follow your steps but they same exact problem happend

Uninstall/unzoone/reboot again, but this time make a new windows user account with admin privilages, login to it, and run SZip again.

Try updating EVERYTHING or hack it using SZip
