Default Zune Software on XP Freezing Constantly

VERSION OF ZUNE
======================
Zune 80

VERSION OF ZUNE SOFTWARE/FIRMWARE
=====================================
2.5

OPERATING SYSTEM
======================
XP Pro - fully updated

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
=======================
Originally installed from CD in the box. I have about 53GB of music now in the library and on the Zune.

Problems:
1) The software takes eons to start - at least 5 minutes.
2) It frozen 95% of the time for up to 20 mins. Sometimes the screen is visible, sometimes it's not. I cannot use it to do anything because I can never navigate through it long enough before it freezes.
3) It won't exit -I usually have to end it through Task Manager.

It DOES update the library soon after new things are added. There are no tagging issues. The Zune device is fine. However, I can never predict when it will decide to actually sync with the Zune device, so I just have to leave them connected for many hours until they decide to talk.

THINGS ATTEMPTED SO FAR
===========================
Uninstalling through the Control Panel and reinstalling both from the Zune site and separately from the Microsoft Downloads. The first time it got stuck at the last step at 99% and never finished. So I ended it and got the version from Microsoft.

HAVE YOU SEARCHED ONLINE/ZUNEBOARDS TO FIND A SOLUTION?
================================================== ========
Yes... no one seems to be reporting this. I've Googled the interwebs as well. See some complaining, but no solutions.

HAVE YOU RECEIVED ANY ERROR MESSAGES?
========================================
No

ATTACHMENTS
====================
Here is where you will put any images of the issue (if any).
Also remember to clearly label the images so we know whats going on.

I think its a ram problem. Have you tried running the Zune software on its own without having anything else running.
