Default software/computer problems

I have unzooned and reinstalled countless times (w/szip v2), sometimes with different results. I cannot seem to install the software smoothly. This is my current problem, I try to run Zune and all I get is the zune window with no recognizable functions. The program seems all messed and i cannot accomplish anything. I've been looking through the stickies and i can't perform most of those solutions.
I try the regedit, and it says "The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction".
I try to access the firewall and it says "Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display windows firewall settings"
I try to use my original zune 1.0 cd, and nothing displays in the install box.
I have run various registry cleaners, but nothing happens.
Can someone help me out? I would like to just reinstall windows to see if that would work, but I do not have the installation CD.
