Default Limewire songs to zune?

I'm having no luck transfering my Limewire songs to Zune. They are in wma format. And I've even transferred them into the Zune folder (the one in "My Music"). But that doesn't seem to be working. Ppl on other message boards suggest that this should work though. Am I not dragging the sonngs into the right folder?

Can someone help me please?

Note: One thing I noticed is that the songs that I ripped from a CD into the Zune folder are listed as Unprotected and the songs that I ripped from Limewire are listed as protected. Zune will not play them becuase of this. Could this be it? How do I change the protection on these files?

If putting the songs into the folder doesn't work, it could be a specific problem for the music files themselves. Try highlighting and dragging all the downloaded music into the zune software while it's open, if the software accepts it, then nothing is wrong with the music and you've solved your problem.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it.

I tried to highlight and drag into the open software just now (sorry but that means dragging it into the official zune pink collection screen right?). That didn't work either...

Does it make a difference that I'm in Canada. Zune was just release here a week ago...

Actually, I shoudl clarify that I downloaded songs from Bearshare and when they get downloaded they are protected. When I download from Limewire, they are not protected. I've now successfully transferred a song from my LImewire library to Zune.

But...now my limewire doesn't work becuase I says its behind a firewall (never used to be).

I didn't realize that Bearshare was like that...

Yeah I don't think its Zune either now that I've transfered some of my old limewire songs onto Zune. Only problem is that now my Limewire is not longer connecting.

I've heard that if you dowload a new gnutella file that it sometime works to get limewire up and running again, but am not sure where to find a safe one to download.

Alternatively, I'd like to download from a website that leaves the files unprotected (Bearshare files all come protected).

There is always frostwire which is a free varient of limewire that is around 300% better. Google it and check it out.

You'll need to remove the protection from them by using something like TuneBite. I don't have any recommendation for a program for that purpose, though.

As for Lime Wire's connection problem, we'll need to know if you use Window's Firewall or something else. If you use a firewall, then you'll need to go in and allow LimeWire.exe through.

change your download folder in limewire to my music so when you download music it goes to my music and make sure that zune is set to check my music for audio files
