artists with only single song, what to do with album?

So, I'm on the verge of buying a new Zune 80, after 6 months of dealing with an iPod Classic 80GB. I bought a Zune in January, and returned it because of all sorts of tagging problems that I now have sorted out.

I have many artists (local bands, my band , few random singles) that I only have one song for, and most don't have the album tag. Even if they did, I wouldn't want to have these individual songs populating my albums list this way.

I'm wondering if you guys have any advice on how to go about tagging these individual songs.

THINGS ATTEMPTED SO FAR

I tried assigning them to one album, but I still got 100 different versions of "SINGLES" album name that I assigned. I didn't want to compromise YEAR info and GENRE info just to have a uniform album for these singles (even though I think the various artists would still produce the 100+ albums...).

Change the album artist to something like Music and give the album name Singles and your music will appear under the same album/album artists, but keep the artist name the same.
That might have been the problem with your first attempt, different album artists.
