MP4 conversion problem

So, I recently converted all of my videos to Zune friendly MP4s using CuCuSoft conversion suite for Zune (latest version). Upon reallizing that WMM doesn't support MP4 and I couldn't play aroud with my vids anymore (I like making AMVs.) I went back and tried to convert a couple of vids to WMV. Imagine my constenation when CuCuSoft told me that I couldn't even preview the MP4s let alone convert them. In fact one vid (The Godfather, DVD rip) won't even play on my Zune. I've never had a problem with MP4 before. I've converted them and played them without issue in the past. My real hang up is that I am in Iraq and do not have access to a system that I can download things on so, I that's out as far as deriving a solution. I'm hoping that there's some sort of quick fix that I can do off-line. I mean, it's really not a dire situation. It's just really annoying that I can't even open the files with the software that converted them in the first place. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
