[SOLVED] Zune is connected, can't sync
I've been trying to set up a Zune 80 for a family member. This wouldn't be a big deal, except I've got to do it on a computer without internet. I was able to upgrade the firmware on the Zune, but I've been having a lot of trouble on the software end.
When I use SZIP2, the Zune software won't start. It just crashes; I've read the fixes and none of those helped.
In then end, I was able to set up the Zune software version 1.3.5728.0. It runs, it's all good. I plug in the Zune and it recognizes it, asks for a name for it and everything, but it won't go any further. It gives an error. After closing the error, the Zune is displayed as if you can sync to it. Pressing Sync yields the same error.
"Zune software cannot open the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct."
This is on an XP computer.
Thank you for the help, and I apologize if this is a repost. I tried searching with a few different terms, but I haven't found anything conclusive.
EDIT: I tried all kinds of different things, to no avail. In the end I had the haul the box over to somewhere with internet and install the newest version. Microsoft seriously screws everyone with all these problems.
