I have several purchased audible books that I have converted to mp3 files in order to listen to them on my zune 80 (while awaiting native audible support). The book gets converted to numerous mp3 files (typically over 60 for a single book) that I name and tag serially (like tracks for an album). The title (in the tag) is the name of the book plus track number (as is the actual file name). Album name is the name of the book for all files.
When zune software detects these files, it seem to add them (judging by the number of files reported as added) however when I search in Zune software for them, only some appear (like 7,9,10,15, etc). all my books have this problem. Whn I sync, same incomplete list goes to my zune. I have just upgraded to Zune soft ver 2.5, but this happened in the previous version as well. This situation does not happen with music files, though. I used MP3Tag 2.41 for tagging / renaming. Help!!!!! ![]() |

I managed to fix two of the audio book issues by fiddling with the tags a bit (yes...I have read about the "album artist" field issue and took it into consideration). I have made all 3 books use the same consistent tag format and fields, but the most recent addition still fails to show all mp3 files...

The reason nobody's helping you is that there is no fix for that bug right now
![]() I've had the same problem before with ver. 2.3. If I exited the software, then re-loaded it and re-synced, it would eventually get all the files to the device. I still don't know why it did that. I've only tried 2.5 once, but so far it seems to be better in that area. Despite the efforts to help by the moderators here, I fail to see why MS had to inflict this on us. Heck, MS owns the drag-and-drop interface of Windows, which is all we needed in the first place. |

Thanks for the info! I certainly am frustrated by this issue. It is simply nonsensical to have MS fail on what seems like obvious stuff, on a product they are trying to boost in terms of market share. I certainly like the device, but the software simply is not up to par (it is "improving" but dangerously too slow to get the impact they need.)
