Ok, I probably did the ID-10T action and uninstalled with Unzoone before uninstalling with the regular Zune package first, but I thought it might solve the initial problem I had. Here is my current problem:
I uninstalled with Unzoone to try to clear the machine before I reinstalled. I reset the machine and started up the Zune 2.5 package but the installer only checks for updates and then returns saying the software is up-to-date. There is not Zune directory in Program Files or a registry entry for HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Zune or HKLM\Software\Microsoft\ZuneSetup. Anyone know of where the installer is look for updates on the machine when the player is not on the machine? |

User Windows Installer Cleanup to make sure there still isn't an Installer entry. (Most likely problem) Ensure you have eliminated the Application Data folder as well. Try another reinstall. Nah, I think iTunes 2 and Winamp 3 are still at the top of the list.

I found a solution that ended up working for me. I downloaded the full Zune package (microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=6136349F-2B32-4946-83B5-A09775531EF4&displaylang=en). After extracting, inside the x86/packages folder run the Zune-x86.msi (no pretty UI installer package).
For me, this just ran through the installer and disappeared when finished. Now I have a Zune player again. |

Yeah I tried this method but i get this popup at the end of the installation which says something about "DriverCA 19:54:20:062" Operation 'InstallHardwareDriver' has finished with no result, and when i click OK Zune uninstalls itself. :S
