Need Help / A Few Software Problems

Well, well. I need help. I've just won myself a 8GB Zune from Pepsi's current promotion, and I've successfully installed the software on my genuine Windows laptop, but I'm still having trouble getting it to work on my home comp, which is currently running on TinyXP Beast Edition.

I've tried installing the new Zune software multiple times, downloading necessary software, using hacks, editing registry entries, etc. Never works.

The only Zune software I've been able to install is the 1st version. It installed smoothly and runs smoothly, but when I plug my Zune in, my Zune tells me I need to download the current software. Bummer, right?

What I need to know is if there is a way that I can make my 8GB Zune work with the old software. If anybody has any information, please let me know. I am desperate.

Also, on another note, as stated before, I have successfully installed the new Zune software on my laptop. But, when I start a sync of any type of media, it makes my laptop shut off completely. Off course, with zAlternator, I've been able to survive, but does anybody know another solution for this problem? Please inform me if you do.

You can't get the 8gb Zune to work with the old software, sorry
Try uninstalling with Unzoone and re-installing with Szip2

Congrats on winning. Unfortunately, the Zune software will not run on stripped down versions of windows, because they lack necessary parts of the XP that run the Zune software.(Wow, that was a run on).

Well, I tried what Scrapz mentioned and it installed successfully.

But, it tells me the software is not up-to-date. If I were to update it, would it not update correctly or have other issues?
