So...
If the tags are setup 100% in mp3Tag and/or iTunes. Why can't the zunesoftware read it out? I'm a genre-guy, and somehow it added 'Unknown' and 'Other' to like 70% of the whole library, which renders it useless to me. (rant... I'm sorry but i seems like they have some ******ed coders on the zunesoftware team? It's like you have a HUGE bag of money to make something nice and still **** it up. I mean huge compared to all those other software companies who actually manage to put out something nicely ON A BUDGET. How hard can it possibly be to readout some metadata and convert it nicely to the corresponding tags in the mp3software. Apparently Microsoft can't. 13 year old kids can do it, microsoft can't. I tried the zunesoftware, WMP11 and winamp to get it right, none of them work. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!! I mean maybe 1% of the people using mp3 players take the effort to organise everything exactly how they want. Those other 99% want a working player, import their music and LET THE SOFTWARE DO THE WORK! Instead of all these endless threads about how to convert your tags which takes hours/days/weeks. I want to select a folder and have the software actually do some thinking for me. If it can't, buy some mp3tag company and use their information to put in the zune library for all I care. I mean having compiled albums and then have something like 30 duplicates on your zune which you have to scroll through. What a freaking joke. I went to hell to get a 80gb zune (europe talking here) and I'm at the point to just throw it out of the window and get a (stupid) ipod...just to make my life easier. Maybe zune should change 'welcome to the social' to something more like 'Zune, for people who have too much spare time and are willingly to spend it tagging every little song they have and still end up with a crappy library' No excuses for my tone here, you can ask the zune software team for it. |

Why can't the zunesoftware read it out? /QUOTE] Because it's a piece of ****. That's why the zAlternator is in the works, and people want MediaMonkey(or whatever it's called), WMP and iTunes.

lawleit's right. If you want to bypass the software, see the link in my signature for how to sync using MediaMonkey.
Alternatively, running the collection reset tool might fix things up: http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/gen...agnostics.html

I've tried that road, as I stated in my first post I used WMP11, Winamp with the usb storage setting. Winamp was able to write to the zune, but ended up with no album information...how logical...WMP11 ****ed up my tags so badly I wasn't gonna tag everything for the 4th time.
I was surprised how much I instantly liked the new winamp. Last time I tried it, it was still version 2. something. You know what makes me the angriest. I thought, hey lets buy a Zune it should be better than an ipod + I'm sick of those Apple fanboys just blindly following some belief without thinking. And now I silently regret getting one cause of all the useless hours I put into getting my library the way I want. Knowing that by getting an ipod I would be up and running from the 1st hour. |

So tried mediamonkey a little and just like the other software it seems it messes up the mp3tag's I made.
Isn't there some mp3tag utility which exports the folder it has read and makes it available to winamp/mediamonkey or zune to import? // Tried it today, love the tagsyncing. Though I have to go through the whole library once again it seems this software is working. Thanks! Shame that one has to go through so much trouble to get everything working though. Reason why zune will probably fail. Last edited by Boomshanka : 02-03-2008 at 10:01 AM. |

Well I am glad to hear I am not the only one pissed at microsoft. the first versions of netframework.. like 1.3.... I figured out how to tag all my music.. got it all straightened out.. and my library most of the way orginized. (few missing tracks here and there) then they go to this 2.0 framework. and not only can I not tag my new music. it messed up my old tags. I was so pissed. I put down my zune and haven't touched it for a month or better. I am going to try mediamonkey and zaltranator that people have been pushing on here. See if that helps. Fingers crossed... But honestly I wish that the zune worked like a flash drive and I could orginize it how I like instead of how it likes. microsoft should really get over trying to stop pirates. and concentrate more on making quality software. Cuz I am seriously getting sick of the BS.

You should actually be using .Net Framework 3.0...
