Angry Preserving Picture Folder structure on device??

HELP: How do I make the Picture folder on the device have the exact same folder structure as the Picture folder on my hard drive?

I just got a Zune and i'm going nuts over the picture and video browsing and folder structure. It seems like no matter how I organize the folders in my library or on my hard drive, the folder structure is never the same on the device

being a photographer, i have ALOT of photos and they are all carefully sorted into a ton of subfolders, which after i sync are spread out all over the device and not at all in the same order as I have them on the hard drive.

am i missing something?

If you reorganized the photos on your computer after you synced them to the device, then you'll have to delete and resync to reflect the changes on the device.

They are sorted by the day they were made/taken. Not by the way they are in the folder itself.

I have the new brown 30GB Zune and when I look at the pictures, I have the options of view by date or by folder. View by date is not useful to me at all since i have 1000s of images taken over years of time, so i always use view by folder since they are organized nicely by categories in folders.

But even after entirely deleting my library and formatting my Zune, then setting up the folders just so...I still get a mess of folders on the Zune after sync'ing that doesn't match my PC folders at all...

Perhaps the Zune isn't really meant to display large collections of images or video? Or handle folders more than 4 deep or something?

What do you mean for deep? I have folders within folders on my zune.

By '4 deep' I mean folder-within-folder-within-folder-etc.

Actually, I've decided to just return the Zune to the store and keep looking for another player. It's frustrating getting this thing to do what I want and I don't think a recreational device should be so difficult to use.

Plus, it seems I can get a lot more for the same price. Archos has a 30GB player for the same price as the 30GB Zune that plays games, has a web browser, a bigger touch screen, and all with longer battery life. the zune just seems too plain, featureless, and difficult to personalize to justify its high cost...

thanks for the suggestions though...

cheers
-j

I don't know how to do this. The Zune Software is very.. bad. But for me, I have a folder in another folder with pictures if THAT is what you want. I just set like, the folder that has all the deep folders as the folder to be checked for images.

Then in the software you click the folder, and more folders appear, click another one, more appear again. I hope this is what you are looking for.

It is true, you can view by date and by folder. I have had no problem with this. If you organize them correctly it should look fine on your device.

Exactly. Things on my computer have the same folders on the Zune.
