Artist Tag Issues

I've been poking around here attempting to find my problem already happening to others, and I suppose that it has, but I've skimmed through at least 10 threads without finding a clear answer. So, at any rate...

There's this one artist, that keeps on just reverting to being tagged "A". It refuses to be edited to its correct name. You can type in anything you want other than the correct name, and it will be tagged that name. Whether its "pineapple" or "Hillary Clinton", it'll change to that name. It just won't change to it's real name.

Now, I've seen that Library Build fix, and I'm not quite sure what exactly that does. If it resets everything like it seemed to imply, then there's no way in hell that I'm going to input all 10GB of music on my computers tags over again, seeing as it takes HOURS with the Zune Software because you can't edit Artists in groups like you could with Windows Media Player 11.

I'd really love some actual help, not a "Here look at this link" post. Seeing as the links in the other threads, lead to other threads that are just walls upon walls of seemingly endless text.

Also, does Microsoft plan to fix this crappy as hell software any time soon?

yeah, a couple solutions are available to you.

-MS has released software v2.3 which is said to allow for editing to stick.
-You can also get zAlternator to allow for sync with Windows Media Player.
-There's also zMeta that will help with meta data editing (v2 should be released soon)

BTW - the Zune Collection Reset Tool simply fixes the album art issues some are experiencing...

Guess what? It's doing it again. It keeps changing a different artist to "C". I'm starting to loathe Microsoft...

i can't stand it...this is my ****ty problem...example: i put bone thugs - strength & loyalty in the zune library on my computer..then i add nas illmatic..and it puts the nas album in the bone directory..so i get mp3 tag..and change the artist names around...and each time i readd the nas album..it goes to the same dam directory..i can change the directory to whatever i want..bone, bone thugs, bone thugs n harmony, unknown...whatever it is..nas will end up there...f'ing annoying
