When installing with the disc and the download package from both microsoft.com and zune.net I get an error saying
"Installation Failed Setup must stop because the required package "Creating system restore point" failed to install. The system cannot find specified path. Error code 0x80070003" I updated my system Windows XP Home with the latest SP2 Tryed to do a system restore and I wasn't able to click another day. I have it clicked as active in the "my computer" properties. Could this be the problem? I've been looking up answers for 2 days now and I haven't found much inregards to my situation so any help at all would be greatly appericated. ![]() |

You might try turning it off and then turning it back on if SZIP doesn't work

Sorry forgot to mention I installed SZIP and it worked but it wouldn't sync. So unistalled it but when I tryed to reinstall it the program wouldn't load properly i guess you could say? It was ful of red x's and that was pretty weird. So uninstalled it and ran UnZoone also and now When I try to install the orignal Zune software I get that wonderful error.

If it didn't play music, I think you can fix that by running the media collection reset tool: http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/gen...agnostics.html
Run a registry cleaning software like CCleaner/TweakNow RegCleaner and then reinstall. If you get the red X's, run the collection reset too. Good Luck ![]()

I uninstalled and ran CCleaner like you said then reinstalled SZIP and it still came up with a bunch of red x's So i ran Media Collection Reset and I got an error saying
An error occurred while resetting your collection. Error details: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Then it says Unable to locate Zune 1 library database file at "C:\Documents and Settings\Home User\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Zune\CurrentDatabase_365.wmdb" ![]() |

Interesting. If you navigate to that location, do you see any files there?

Did you previously try the metadata fix?
It appears your missing file just has a wrong extension.
