Default [SOLVED] Vista and Zune Software

I just got a Zune 80 and downloaded the software on my work computer.
I tried to install it on my personal computer that runs Vista but it said I needed to run Windows update before it can install. Normally this wouldnt be a problem except for the fact that I am in Iraq.
I cannot connect my personal computer to the goverment internet lines so does anyone know exactly what updates I would need to download so I can copy them to my personal computer to allow for the installation to work?
Currently I am using the Zune software at work on the work computer but id rather not. Its starting to piss me off that I cannot get the updates I need to run this on my personal computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try the SZIP tool found here: http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/zto...-v2-redux.html It's a toned down version of the new software that only requires .net support. It's not the full version so you won't be able to access the Zune Marketplace, but it's something that will tie you over until you can get the updates required for the full version.

...Do you know what the original ZuneMarketplace looked like?

Thanks, although with my internet connection at work being so slow it will be hours upon hours before even that download is complete. But I will try that program and I hope to hell it works because it seems as if there is nothing else I can do.

If only someone knew exactly what update/updates I need then I can download those individually and everything would work great.

SZIP should do nicely, but it really depends on what you already have. I know, Windows Update is a pain. It even runs slow on my computer.

.Net framework 3.0 is a must. I can't seem to find any other requirements.

EDIT: Scratch that...just realized if he is using Vista, he will definitely have the .Net Framework 1.0 installed and up to date.

The only thing EXE's usually are is readable (or rather, executable)

Sorry man, I know you can't download much, but I think the full 166 MB installer would be worth a shot as well

Got it, everything works fine now, but I just deleted all the mp3s from the Zune, but one album just wont delete, anyone know why. When I connect the device it shows up, I click delete and it says it is removed, but when I unplug the zune and go to music, the album is back, ahhhh, its killing me.

In the past, when I couldn't delete from the device, physically moving the files to a directory outside of the monitored directories did the trick. You might try dropping them out of the collection, moving them, then delete.

I finally got them deleted. I had to close zune software and unplug the zune, then plug it in and let it open the software and delete again. Everytime I did this it would delete 2 or 3 songs from the album and say it was empty. I would then unplu the zune and check and there was still more there so I kept doing that untill they were all gone.

Glad to see you got it resolved. I was going to recommend you use the HDD hack to delete the stubborn files.
