VERSION OF ZUNE
====================== Zune 30 VERSION OF ZUNE SOFTWARE/FIRMWARE ===================================== Zune Firmware 2.2 Software 2.1.888.2 OPERATING SYSTEM ====================== Windows XP SP2 (brand new install as of yesterday) Fully updated with Windows Update PROBLEM DESCRIPTION ======================= After connecting the Zune and starting the software, the software will detect the Zune, try to start syncing, but before it can get past 0%, it disconnects the Zune and boots me back to my library. After a few seconds it detects it again and goes through the whole process indefinetly until I close the software or disconnect the Zune. I'm not using a USB hub or extension cable. THINGS ATTEMPTED SO FAR =========================== I've tried reinstalling the driver, using a different USB port (computer only has 2), and trying different combinations of pluggin in Zune, starting software, started software then plugging in the Zune, etc. HAVE YOU SEARCHED ONLINE/ZUNEBOARDS TO FIND A SOLUTION? ================================================== ======== I tried searching, but was unable to find anyone else with a problem similar to mine. HAVE YOU RECEIVED ANY ERROR MESSAGES? ======================================== No error messages, it simply behaves as if I'm constantly plugging and unplugging the Zune every 5 seconds. ![]() |

Do you have anything you can't lose?
I'd reload the firmware. See deleting everything including the firmware: http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/zun...binations.html

I'd still try reloading the firmware.

I tried reloading the firmware several times. And it does the same thing every time. It works for a little while, then it starts to do it again.
Okay, I also just tried using a different computer. It works absolutely fine on there. So it's not the Zune itself or the cable. Last edited by UberSprode : 12-17-2007 at 08:26 AM. Reason: added info ![]() |

In that case, I think you're in trouble. It sounds like you'll have to reinstall windows.
You might look at this: http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/tec...-programs.html

Hum. If that's the case, I'd run windows update.

I had to run windows update in order for the Zune 2 software to even install. I'm completely up to date with my XP install.
Edit: It's gotten worse. Now it doesn't show up in the Zune software at all. And if I go the the Device Manager if flips back and forth between "This device is working properly" and "no drivers are installed for this device" and occasionally it goes to "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer (code 45)".
