Default Wrong Format in collection?

Hi, I just realized I am missing around 1,000 songs when I use the zune software. I have come to the conclusion that they are in the wrong format, such as m4a.

The problem is, I have over 10,000 songs, so I am not sure which ones are in the right format. It would take forever to look song-by-song to make sure they are the right format.

Is there software that searches for non-zune compatible audio files and converts them? What would be the best way to get these songs on to my zune?

Look at the files in Windows Explorer. Make sure you have it set so you can see file extensions. (Tools -> Folder Options)

You should be able to see which files are a compatible format and which aren't.

Supported File Types:
Windows Media® Audio Standard[3] (WMA) (.wma): Up to 320 Kbps; constant bit rate (CBR) and variable bit rate (VBR) up to 48-kHz sample rate. WMA Pro 2-channel up to 384 Kbps; CBR and VBR up to 48-kHz

WMA Lossless (using Zune device firmware 2.1 or later)

Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) (.mp4, .m4a, .m4b, .mov) - .m4a and .m4b files without FairPlay DRM up to 320 Kbps; CBR and VBR up to 48-kHz

MP3 (.mp3) – Up to 320 Kbps; CBR and VBR up to 48-kHz
