what exactly does this do? Does it reset your settings to before you installed the updates, or does it just clear your entire library in the zune software?
thanks

Deletes the ZuneStore file under application data\local\microsoft\zune without having to enable hidden files/folders to manually go and do it. Useful for those people who's metadata got bugged during the switch or for those of us who just like to watch the software update our collections and stare in amazement.
thanks a lot for sharing this, it definitely solved the problems I was having with my library, and restored it to how it was before I upgraded my software
Hm.. I just gave it a go, and it seems to have fixed almost everything.
(1 song had the wrong name.. but that song had the same problem before. And one album only had 1 file out of about 20 added.)
I'm hoping it corrected all the problems I had with video names/tags.
Anyways, after running it, most of my files are totally fine, and have the right metadata.
(Messed up metadata was my biggest problem before. I guess it was read wrong/mixed up)
Hello, I've been trying literally forever to find a way to make my zune organize my music according to tags, in other words correctly. It almost seems like it has a mind of it's own. All of my music is perfectly tagged to the last detail and yet my zune screws it all up. I hate how it puts songs under the wrong artists or under "varios artists". All I want is for my zune to organize it according to the tags I have made. I don't want it to redo the tags for me and jack things up. I've tried everything from using Zalternator to sync it with WMP and winamp to resetting my library with this tool with no luck so far. With Zalternator i simply got the same tagging system over again. I simply don't know what to do and this problem is eating away at me. Are there any solutions out there? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.
Clean up your tags, do a hard reset, tun this tool, update your software, and resync.

This tool is terrible...it deleted 99% of my album art (I'm talking near 1000 pictures, which I now have to go find and redownload) and didn't fix the problem I was having with the software confusing an instrumental album with the non-instrumental version and only adding half the songs (with the metadata from the wrong versions of the songs) to my library. And on top of that it's going to spend 4 hours resyncing all my files because it had to rebuild the library. It's worthless!

Have you tried changing the version of the IDE tags?
I was having the same problem. My zune software refused to pick up the tagging info because my tags were on version 2.4. I downgraded to v2.3 and voila everything worked!
you can change the version of IDE tags using iTUNES or MP3tag.
I finally managed to fix the album by adding them as separate albums and editing each song's info one by one in the new software. It's actually in there now, but I have to go back and add all my album art back by hand because the reset tool deleted it all and it won't pick up all the folder.jpg and ZuneAlbumArt.jpg files in my music collection for some reason.
