cant install new firmware

Hi. My friend updated my zune itself, but when i try to update the zune software it says im not connected to the internet, which i am. I tried szip, but it comes up with encountered problem, needs to close. I am running xp with sp 2. I am completely updated on my computer, but to no avail. Can someone please help?

Have you tried downloading the software from Zune.net?

yeah. it says that i need to connect to the internet, which i already am. I have tried with firewalls up, with em down, i've also disconnected my router and connected straight to my computer. I have no clue why it wont work. please help.

Try turning Windows Firewall ON. Not really sure why, but this has solved the problem for some users.
