Default [SOLVED] Software not playing files - Please Read

Well, lately I have been using the Zune software as my main media player, because I think the interface is really nice and I want to get to know the software.

Yesterday, whenever I opened any of my wmv's in it, it would just stay on "Opening". No big deal right, thats what I thought, so I played my files in WMP.

Today, i try to play some music, and it sticks on "Opening" Just like the vids did. Now, I am confused, and would really like some help if possible.

I don't have any odd media formats. I've got WMV's for video, and MP3's for music.

I may try to reinstall the software, but don't want to delete my whole Zune folder, I spent like an hour getting album pics off google and adding them to the Zune software for my albums.

Thanks though.

I love that about ZB. Post a help request and you get a reply within 5 minutes.

Did you install using SZIP? I've heard a bunch of people installing with that have had the same problem

Yes, I did use SZIP, maybe the only way to fix it is to uninstall and give the Zune software a shot.

Like, it worked a few days ago, but I got a virus and had to do a system restore to when I downloaded the infected program, and it was like a month ago in November. So it was a before I originally installed the Zune Software. After the restore I used SZIP instead of the Zune Original Installer.

Yeah, I'd go with the original Zune software then. I'm thinking that ought to do the trick

That virus may still be there. System Restore doesn't usually fix viruses.

Anyway, can you play anything at all?

I personally would format my hd and reinstall windows, because thats easy for me. Is that easy for you?

Do you live outside of the US, have Paypal, and want the Zune Pass? If so PM me.

Uninstall and install with Zune software did not work.

I've got to think the virus is gone. After the system restore, I scanned my computer with quite a few virus scanners, and the comp came out clean on all of em'.

Anyway, I can't seem to play anything at all. Any music track or video I try to play just won't open. It says Opening at the bottom whenever I try to play anything.

Formatting and reinstalling windows is not really a possibility for me.

I'm 13, and share the computer with my dad and brother. There's no way my brother would even let me do anything remotely important to the computer.

To give you an example:
I wanted to get a new graphics card(Mine won't play any games past 04-05), he told me when I get it, I wouldnt be able to put in and would have to get a professional. I mean, come on, putting a graphics card in a computer is way too easy.

So, whether it has to do with hardware or software, my brother is not going to budge, even if I have a step by step tutorial on how to do it.

SZIP has seemed to have that problem with many users. Can you install the official software?

I've done it before, yeah.

What I did after the problem started was,
Uninstall using Change/Remove programs in control panel. Delete entire Zune folder to make sure all excess files that could have held configuration problems were deleted. Installed with Zune software. Same problem remains.

I just got an idea. Maybe, there is still some info that didnt get deleted in %appdata% I maybe wrong, and that might not be the problem at all, but I'm willing to give anything within my reach a shot to get this to work again.

Alright, lately, within the last half an hour of troubleshooting, Im getting that common C00D11D1 error. I need the Zune.msi
If anyone has it, I desperately need it. It might be the fix to my problem.

Yes, that works for some.

If it's the Zune.msi you need, see the "Installing by Bypassing Windows Update" fix here: http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/gen...re-issues.html

Thanks, But I'm experiancing an odd problem with it. When I double click it, nothing comes up. I've also tried right click open, and running from task manager.
EDIT: NVM, When I extracted it onto the desktop, the autorun worked.

Well even though the Zune software is not installed, whenever I open the installer, it says the software is up to date.

That's what the fix specifies.
