The zune software won't recgonize my zune at all. My computer does but the software wont. Why? am i missing something?

Okay so what exactly is a usb hub? I am running a dell, older model(4 years maybe) dial up... i really don't know what else to give ya... any advice? Thank you for trying to help me! Greatly appreciated!!!

Stuff like OS (which I'm now guessing is XP).

You might also want to run windows update.

A USB hub is something that allows you to connect more then one USB device to a usb input on your computer

Are you connecting through a front or rear usb port?

i got in contact with zune and they told me to uninstall the software it came with and to download it off the websiote which i did, but nothing changed...

These type of problems, though not rare, are hard to handle because they need to be handled on a case by case basis.

Did you run windows update?
Are your USB drivers up to date?

I dodn't know that you ever had to update your usb drives... how do i do that. And yes I did run windows update. Do you think that this is something that I should try to get in contact with zune again fpr? And if so, because I really don't know what's going on, what do I tell them I need help accomplishing?

It wouldn't hurt. To update your drivers, you might want to download a driver update program. PM me if you need help with that

im not sure about zune software 2.0 but in the older version a service was stopped for some reason and it took me awhile to find out how to fix it but try this

1. run "services.msc" w/o quotes and run
2. find something named zune (not exact name but with the word in it)
3. right click and click restart
4. if there is a problem like it needs another service to run find plug and play service and hit restart (it might be called something differnt but try to find plug and play cause thats in it)

yea sure!

okay this is the steps

1. click the windows start menu button
2. find "run"
3. upon finding it type in the box "services.msc" (without the quotes)
4. scroll around in the services window that popped up for the zune network sharing serivce
5. Right click it and select properties
6. Upon opening properties click restart if you see it and if not start
7. Start up the software and reconnect the zune and see if this works

PART II of this (if the above did not work because another service was necessary for it to work etc.)

1. repeat to step 3
2. find UPnP Device Host service
3. repeat the same steps 5-7
