What fix are you trying to use?

Search your computer for "CurrentDatabase_365.wmdb", right click, and click "Open containing folder"
In your search, be sure you include hidden files/folders

Hey, I new to this forum but I've had my Zune for just over a year now.
I tried following your instructions but I couldn't find "CurrentDatabase_365.wmdb" . It only had ZuneStore.sdf, and i think something called ArtCache. Oh and I've been trying to combine albums by draging them together like I did with the V1 software before but it won't let me. Is there another way I can do this?

Even after searching, you couldn't find it (see the post above yours)?
And drag and drop is not yet possible.

No, I went to start and used Start Search, typed in CurrentDatabase_365.wmdb and nothing came up.
I'm using Vista, I just got it so I'm not quite sure how to include hidden files/folders if thats the problem. Besides Draging-Droping, Is there another way to combine albums?

Yeah, in your search, you're going to have to include hidden files/folders
The option in "Folder Options" window -> “View” -> "Advanced settings" is a persistent global setting. When set to “show” hidden files, hidden files will be visible (grayed-out) when browsing folders as well as in search results. The only way to combine albums is to make sure their tags match exactly

I should have asked this from the beginning. Do you have Vista?

I've got album art and metadata in general showing up in all the wrong places. I've deleted and rebuilt the entire zune app data folder several times now. I've installed the Zune software on a seperate machine running Vista (XP on my main system) that I clone my music to using SyncToy. In all cases the data is at least 25% wrong. It's wrong in exactly the same way on both computers. For example, U2 - Elevation ALWAYS shows up under Alien Ant Farm's Anthology (U2 isn't even listed as an artist anymore). That album in turn gets some random album art. Which wrong art is chosen seems to be the only variable.
Is there anything at all anyone has heard to try beyond deleting the data stores in the Zune's app data folder? I'm not even going to TRY and fix the havoc wreaked on my smart playlists (in that they don't appear anymore) until after this gets fixed. Thanks for any insights you may have. |

You sure your tags aren't just incorrect? Does it display properly in other software?

Hello, all!
I have been having the metadata issues many others have had and unsuccessful with any of the fixes posted here and at zune.net. ![]() I have checked the tag info in Windows Media Player and it is all correct. I have not synced my Zune or upgraded the firmware because of this. My wife was anxious to purchase music and we upgraded against my better judgment and then upgraded her Zune and synched it. Then I noticed the library issues. I have been very frustrated that the Zune crew has turned a deaf ear to the issues of late and have offered no real hope for those having the problems. I really wonder how much revenue they are losing by forcing the upgrade to use their music store... and many users refuse to upgrade because of these known issues with no fix apparently on the horizon. Thanks for letting me rant a bit. I will keep checking here and there for a light at the end of the tunnel... and hope its not a train coming at me. Cheers! |

I've also tried the renaming data files solution. First off all I can find is the zunemarketplace.sdf file, not the current database_365.wmpv. May not have the filenames perfectly right, but you know which ones I mean. And yes I do have hidden files set to appear. Renaming the marketplace file prompts a library rebuild, but many songs are still under wrong albums, etc. Tags are proper in explorer and wmp11 library. Know of any way to import wmp11 library into new zune2 software?
