"the specified service does not exist as an installed service" Error
I found this to be due to a missing service called "Windows Driver Foundation" It used to be running but somewhere along the way something uninstalled it. Installing Windows Media Player 11 reinstalled it and made the error go away.
Zuneboards won't let me put a link in this message to the other post with more details. Search on the above error message to find the other thread with more details in it.
can anyone help with the problem of installing that i have,........
it says:
system updates required
zune software installation can't continue until youv'e installed one or more required updates
this current version of windows media center isn't supported. please upgrade your Media center machine to 2005 with upgrade 2 or later
I have gone through customer support on the phone with zune and microsoft with no luck
i am currently running media center 2004 but cant seem to update it and microsofts site is no help. is there an easy way to go from 2004 media center to 2005?
You would need to buy a new copy, and that would be Vista Ultimate.
You could always try installing with SZIP 2.5.

I installed the software without a problem on Vista Ult. Zune 80 synced fine.
The problem I seem to be having is with the library. I have added some songs and corrected some others and the software is not showing the changes.
I even tried to play one of the new albums and the software said it found new media, but it is not showing up in my library. I also closed the program and reopened it without luck
I am having a problem that I can't seem to find on this site. I am sure I have overlooked it since you guys cover just about anything.
When I load a CD with MP3 song files I drag them and drop them to the "music" file of my computer. This automatically loads them into the Zune software but just about every time I do this it leaves out numerous songs and I have to go back and drag each song that was missing and drop them into the music file. Most of the time this works and they show up in Zune but this is a pain in the ass to do everytime I want to load up an album on my Zune player. Is there any fix to this because it is absolute insanity having to do this every flippin time I want some new music? If I don't sometimes I could be without 3-5 or more songs off one album! Thanks
I Have a computer that doesnt have internet that i want to install the zune software but i cant when it trys to look for internet connection to check marketplace but i dont really need marketplace i just want to use the software on that computer how do i do this
