Default How To Install

Extract the files from the zunesetuppkg-x86.exe using winrar.
Go into packages folder and run Zune-x86.msi to install.

This will install the software and bypass the windows update issue.

That's how I finnally got it installed anyway.

could you please explain EXACTLY how you did this? I've tried to extract using RAR, but to no avail - thanks in advance

Here's what I think they're talking about.

1) Download and install winRAR
2) Download the software from the Zune.net website. Be sure you "save as"
3) Navigate to where you saved the download
4) Right click on the file and select Open with winRAR
5) In the packages folder, double click Zune-x86.msi (or fr/es for french/spanish)
6) Wait for the installation dialog to close.

Thanks Dizzy, but this fix seems to be for Spanish and French only, hopefully a German version will come out soon.

Ah. I thought you were going to use the English version, regardless of where you lived.

I'm using a non-US windows and have tried this several times but all I can see when zune software is opened is fuzzy lines where images, writing etc are supposed to be. Any ideas why this is?

Ooops, just fixed using info from another thread, no worries.
