shuffle within playlist

i have a large playlist i want to listen to in shuffle mode. is it possible?

Yes, when you are listening to a song in the playlist click the centre and turn on shuffle.

tried that. plays that song and goes back to the playlist order right away.

It shouldn't. The playlist you see when you click the center button is actually the randomized playlist, not the original.
