Default I finally got a car

well, I was going to update my old post on this similar subject, but it was locke'd, but I finally got a car I can call my own. I got a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta. It is AWSOME!! It's stick, so I was forced to learn, but that only took me about 1-2 hours, most of it just playing. driving it is fun, but I have a little bit of trouble getting it started, and stall it sometimes. I'm learning, and hopefully will fix this by next week.

It is dark blue, and is a wolfsburg edition 1.8 turbo. When I bought the car, the salesperson told me the engine was from a mercedes, and it shows! I can get up to 70 in second gear, but this seriously labors the engine, and I don't try this a lot, seeing as I can just bump it up to third, which is easy enough. the speedometer goes up to 160, and I think that the car might be able to reach 180 though I NEVER plan to find this out first hand, due the dangerousness of said situation.

If anyone is considering a VW, I recomend it from the first little bit of having it, though only time will tell how it turns out. I spent a total of about $8000 on it, 6 for the car, and the other 2 for the extended warrenty, just incase something does go wrong with the car. I still have to pay my parents back what they lent me, whish was just under 6, so once I finish paying them back, I plan to trick it out, though I'm not sure what to do, seeing as the sound system is excellent, so I might just try to add a sub in the back.

I'll try to post pics soon, and I may just get the ones from the dealership.

Congrats! I really like Jetta's and VW's in general. My sister has a 2001 Jetta and even on some of the crappy roads around here it was comfortable and had great handling. They are very safe and its nice knowing VW doesn't try and rush their vehicles off the essembily line. The most recent Jetta takes over 42 hours to assemble.

But when the time comes to actually accelerate and move, it gets more complicated.

Yes, as I Am aware. But not all cars and trucks are so easy. Especially on hills and tougher terrain. Its something which takes lots of practice and getting used to.

for the most part I have got the starting down, except for hills sometimes. especially when you have that one idiot right on your bumper, and you can't get started without rolling a little... I havn't been able to get pictures, mainly because I don't have my own camera. I'll try to borrow my sisters at some point to get some pics
