Default Wisdom teeth.....

So I am getting all four of my wisdom teeth pulled, and am hoping people could share their experiences so I can better prepare. I get them out the 3rd of July (I know, lucky me right?) Anyway, any recommendations on how to make the recovery less painful? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When my mom wen't to the dentist they gave her Vicodin and I don't think that she got her wisdom teeth pulled though. I thought that was too extreme of them cause I thought that they were addictive.
I never got my wisdom teeth pulled, and the teeth I have in the back are still baby teeth-they say I should get them pulled but my parents never could afford it and still couldn't for I have no life, health, and especially dental insurance.

It's not bad, I don't like to use medicine because I think using medicine weakens your immunity so I don't use medicine that often. I maybe used those pills for a day or two because my parents made me.
The worst thing you have to do is clean out the holes. I just survived on ramen noodles so it was like nothing changed.

Ooh dang that sucks. Well yeah experiences...I personally haven't had mine pulled out yet. But my sister did, and let me tell you her cheeks( on her face ) were so swollen that they blew up. Like they were 5 times there normal size. I suggest you get ready to not eat, because eating will hurt so much!!! Oh yah get some soup ready, soup is pretty much the only thing you'll be able to eat. If your cheeks blow up, switch between putting a hot pack and cold pack on them it will help them get back to regular size. But yeah good luck!!!

... I don't think that is supposed to happen, or else I was to numb to feel it. It really isn't that bad. The first days is easy b/c your basically comatose, but the 2-4 days suck because you're sore. You just have to be careful eating. And don't eat coconut crumb donuts. I got that stuck in the holes =D

But it really isn't that bad. I got Codone and Ibuprofin and that made me a pretty mellow guy

Yeah don't get anything in the holes.
Just eat/drink broths. NO NOODLES.
And take your opiates.
Yay for opiates!

I only had 3, but I got them all out. Mine were impacted, which means they were way under the gum line, I think at least one was even buried under my jaw bone. So basically I had full fledged oral surgery. I got nitrous oxide and then an IV to put me asleep. It felt like no time had passed and it was over. They gave me oxycontin but I didn't take it because I figured it would make me sick. Instead they also prescribed me high dose Ibuprofen which I took every 4 hours, alternating with extra strength Tylenol every 4 hours. Which means every 2 hours I took something, Ibuprofen one time, in another 2 hours Tylenol, etc. My pain wasn't that bad. After a day I was able to eat normal food by being very careful and chewing in the front. My swelling went away after about 3-4 days. Then the biggest issue was just keeping stuff out of the holes, because the stitches dissolve and then they open up. Really it wasn't that bad though. The worst part is how careful you have to be eating for that first week. Good luck!

Its really not all that bad, I had actually psyched myself out completely and found it to be a pleasant process (as far as the pain level) besides you get some pills. If it wasnt for those I dont think I would have yanked mine (I had the option)
