A robot made by the Honda Motor Co. conducted the Detroid symphony Tuesday evening in a performance of "The Impossible Dream" from "Man of La Mancha."

Better enjoy life before the robots take over.

This is pretty cool. Somewhat related to this, I've seen some companies robot that can play the violin. Maybe it was the Honda Asimo? If it wasn't it was a bot similar to that. It was pretty cool to watch and gave me a kick. Google it if you are interested.

..I hope robots don't start taking over the instruments because then there won't be much point to learning an instrument for yourself if you can just install a program in some robot and they can play it almost perfectly.

i saw this on the news, my friend showed it to me, I thought it was pretty cool man, I was like WOAH! Look at that robot go! I guess he was programmed to do those exact moves before hand? Do you think he can ONLY do those moves and that's it? I would guess so,

Correct, he is only programed to do it..right now. In the article, it says that the orchestra was a little off beat and the robot just kept on directing at the same speed. A human would be able to compensate and help them get back on track.
