Reset Zune Genres?

I've been using my Zune 120 for about six months now. I love it. I also searched endlessly for an answer to this question before I posted this one. Everyone seems to be having problems with their Zune locking up, and are asking on how to reset the Zune. Not me. My problem deals with resetting the genres.

So, like most others, I noticed that the way that the Zune automatically put my music into certain genres was not exactly correct. I'm anal like that.

Well, I started messing with the genres. Needless to say, after dragging and dropping like it was going out of style, I have messed them up. They are beyond repair, and I don't have the time to go through 3,000 songs to correct the issue.

Is there a way to just reset the genres, and have Zune recategorize all my music? At this point, I would be happy with just that.

P.S.: I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the Zune software, as well as reset the Zune. No luck. It kept all the same messed-up genres as before.

There is an option in the software for replacing your metadata but it doesn't work very well. You should try a tagging program like Media Monkey to retag them. But to answer your original question, no there's no way to "get it back." the closest option would be to use the software, but you risk wiping out all of your changes. Go to settings and look for something like replace information about my media or something in the music options page.Change it from only add missing info to overwrite info if necessary. GL
