[help] Zune 80GB not charging

Hi,

I have a Gen 2, 80GB Zune. It is stuck on the battery charge sign (the lightning bolt). The sign itself is very faint and after 3/4 hours of charging it gets slightly bright but the player dies as soon as I unplug it.

I figured that maybe the Zune is not charging from the USB port. So, I went ahead and bought the wall charger (from Microsoft). The same problem continues. I have tried the obvious things (eg. restarting the Zune by pressing the back and top of the pad, keep charging for > 8 hours).

Any ideas ? I will be very grateful, if someone can help.

leave it somewhere warm and dark (a clothes drawer) and let the battery die.. leave it alone for around 4days or so ..

Mine was doing just about the same thing. It worked fine as long as it was plugged in but as soon as I disconnected it the thing died. I got a new battery from Rapid Repair and it's as good as new now.
