Unhappy Water Solution...?

Hi,
My 120gb zune was working perfectly until yesterday...
Storm, rain, Zune outside far from that but the rain helped by the wind , unfortunetely, went to Mr Zune :-(

So, today, no way to start it, I have got the error nÂș5 contact support.
I did a reset, I used a hairdryer (because at the beginning I had nothing at all....after that, at least I could see the screen....)

So, I guess the cause is the water.
Is there any miracle solution? waiting ? Hairdrying again ? etc...
Thanks

Try putting it in dry rice for a few hours.

x2 on the rice solution. If there's condensation in the unit, that will hopefully dry it out.

Your mistake was trying to start it before allowing a 36 hour waiting period from the time it got wet to the time you test it out. (that is assuming you didn't wait) If the device has a way to remove the battery (such as laptops cell phones ect) then do so right away. The best method to dry it out is using the rice or placing it on a paper towel and waiting 36 hours.

Just as greenops said, you shouldn't have tried to turn it on so soon. I've heard so many stories of electronics being fried because of that. Any leftover water in the system could have short circuited the device when you had tried to turn it on.

Hopefully, the problem is just residual water that was left behind, and it'll go away along with the water.

Rice did nothing... :-(
Now, I would like to open the device to make it dry better...
But it is so complicated to open it... I would say impossible!

I know what you mean! I cracked mine open a few weeks ago to change the battery and it did not want to cooperate at all. Start by pressing in on the middle of the back of the little piece of plastic. It takes quite a bit of force but it should pop off. Then there are two weird little screws that need a special tool to get off. I got the tool from Rapid Repair but just about any electronic repair/supply store should have them. Then it's a matter of sliding something thin around the joint between the front and back. Again, it takes a good amount of force but it should pop off. Just be careful.

Well, finally I dit it, I managed in opening it .

Hairdryer during 1 hour. still nothing...
And while opened I decided to do a hard reset (back, play, center, right) and wowh.....it looket it worked...

I have connected it to the pc, nothing, connect, disconnect, tried to install the drivers manually (because was recognised by windows7 but not by the zune software.

And finally, suddenly, it worked and amasing thing: my music is still there...

Thanks to eveybody (stayed in rice for 3 days- maybe it helped)
