Computer has no reaction to plugged-in Zune

When I plug my Zune into my desktop (windows xp3), the Zune itself shows that there is power, but my computer does nothing. It doesn't say failed to install software; it doesn't register a connected Zune in the software, nothing.

I have unzooned, formatted the HD, installed an older version, etc. Nothing happens, ever.

When I plug it into my laptop (windows 7), it works fine, always has.

UPDATE:

Downloaded Zune drivers from a sticky forum and added it manually through add new hardware, and it's working.
