Default UGGHH!!! zune 4 boot loop. PLEASE HELP!!!

ok i tried and tried and tried again to make this damn thing work but i serisously cannot get it. Well a friend of mine gave me his zune flash 4g because it stopped working and he got the 30 gig and said you can have it but good luck fixing it. Well normally i am good at working around things and fixing computers but this thing has me stumped. I have tried everything i can think of including the system restore on this thing and reinstalling the 3.1 firmware on it but its still stuck in the same loop. Boots up, loads, pulls up the menu for about 5-7 seconds and then restarts..... over and over again. I really cant tell what is the matter since I have googled the problem and i can only find that people have had this problem on the first generation 30gig zune. There isn't any warranty left on it so really the next step is throwing it out but I REALLY dont want to do that. CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME HERE?????

ok i do know about hat rapid repair alraeady what i am talking about is how to fix it on my own. I am not going to go through all this trouble of shipping it out and paying someone to fix it if there IS a way to fix it. thats why i am asking for help. if i gotta pay someone to do it i may as well buy a new one. i am also trying to figure out WHY the hell it is doing this loop. i dont think its the z2k bug or whatever because that should be deleted after the system restore wipes the firmware off but instead it keeps doing it while i am trying to install the new firmware on it.

i can guarantee it wasn't the z2k bug considering that only affected the first gen 30's

yea well its confusing as hell. the only other solutin i could come up with is that this is some king of actual hardware malfunction in which case the zune is screwed beyond repair. i am hoping this is not the case though.
