Default zune 80. fully charged, shuts off.

i have an 80gb. its a little over 2 years old. and a couple weeks ago, it shut off with around 1/4 of the battery left. i thought it was just being weird and dind't think anything of it. and as time went by, it would shut off with half of the battery left, then 3/4 left, and finally tonight, fully charged for more than 3 hours, and shuts off within 5 seconds. plugged in to my PC, everything is fine. so is my battery dead or what? its not under warranty and i bought it from newegg.com. also, if its dead, is there a hack where i can somehow unload my HD? because my pc had crashed and ive lost music. also, does anyone know what kind of interface the zune HD is. sata, ide? ive searched for the hack before, but didn't find anything. thanks for any help.

edit: got home from work to plug in to pc, shows zune screen, then shuts off. and this will loop until i unplug it. i put the zune up to my ear, and hear the HD starting up, then i high pitched noise, then shuts off. am i F'd? seems like it

It sounds like your battery is going. You can buy new ones at places like rapid repair. I would look at their site.
