"The item is missing or can't be played" um help XD

This morning on my way out, I went to go play my zune only to discover that every single song came up with the same message "the item is missing or can't be played", it would then proceed to go through every song in that list (i'm assuming it was trying to find something to play), upon further investigation i discovered that my pictures and videos were all gone, as well as the games that were on it.
So my question is, what is wrong with my Zune (180Gb)? And how do i fix it? <---- the more important question....

Have you tried resyncing all of the media with your computer?

i tried just clicking the sync button but it wasnt doing anything so at this point i have deleted all of my music that was on the Zune device and i am now putting everything from my collection back on it which seems to be working ...
is there a way to fix it though without doing that though because its going to take hours to resync everything

I don't think so...you'll just have to let it resync everything =/
