zune stuck on lock

i remember watching an episode of lost and i turned the lock on. afterwards, it was stuck on lock even though i could move the lock switch back and forth, my zune thought it was still on lock. so it won't take any physical commands. i figured the contact plate was disattached, and since i'm out of warranty, i decided to take it apart and try to fix it. I got all the necessary screws and stuff together and suprise! it is impossible to get the aluminum back off my zune. i guess i could pry it off with massive force, but i don't wanna break anything, and i want to put it back when i'm done. all i need to do is reattach the contact plate or push it back into unlocked. i don't care if i can't lock it anymore, i just don't want a brick. anyone know how to get the back off or another solution to my problem? like a software override or something. thanks for the help, guys.

Try letting the battery die and restart it.

If that doesn't work... you could try the reset and reinstallation of the firmware, but that's hard to do if it's locked...

I have never liked the Zune 80 lock switch, It is too flimsy and easy to get damaged. I am sorry to say that your Zune may be unusable because of the lock breakdown, Try getting a Q-Tip and dampen an end tnd try cleaning anything that could be messing it up. (example) Like dirt or sand perhaps.

solved. i tried talking off the case again, but gave up because i didn't wanna brake it. i took a knife and popped of the switch and there's a little thing in there that looks like a stick, and i just need to move that back and forth. thanks guys
