Default Freezing issues in 3.0

I've had my Zune since June and it has never had any issues at all, until I updated to 3.0. Now, 3/4 of the time, whenever I try to select a song or album to play, it just freezes with the song/album in mid-click. Then I have no choice but to restart it, and it's getting really annoying having to constantly restart it. I hope my Zune didn't get screwed up from an official update, that'd be ridiculous. Hopefully it's just a firmware glitch that'll be solved soon... anyone else experience this?

Details:
Windows XP
Zune 80

It's probably best to just wipe the firmware and start over. Hold reset the Zune, then hold Back-Center-Left to wipe the whole HD, firmware included. Then connect to the software to reload it.

Default Same Problem

I was having the same problem and it is definetly annoying. I did not try to re-install the firmware upgarde as suggested but i was wondering if this was a common problem in case someone has done it. This is happening on my zune 120 as well as on my brothers' zune 80s and my friends zune 30.

I don't want to reinstall the firmware unless I absolutely have to. Is there ANY OTHER WAY?

In other words, yes, all of you need to wipe the firmware. Thought for Zune 4/8/16, you'll need to use Back-Center-Play.

OK, I just wiped my Zune (firmware and everything), reinstalled the firmware, and it still freezes.

If you clear your now playing list and add a song it will play rite away. and you can cont. add songs w/o the freeze of clearing the now playing list everytime. Unless you like restarts....

Do what Locke said. I had this problem the first day 3.0 came out and I just wiped out and re-installed the firmware and it has been good ever since.

Thank God I decided not to wipe my firmware. I would've been highly upset.

This is ridiculous they release an update and it starts freezing devices?

Does Microsoft not know the term "test".

The issue doesn't seem to be widespread so whatever is causing it probably slipped through.

I retract my previous statement, then. Hopefully they fix it soon.
