Unhappy Zune won't turn on.

Hey all, I'm new here and have a problem with my zune.

I have the 80G version.

Recently it wouldn't turn on or anything.
When I try to turn it on, the low battery icon appears and that's it. Also the screen doesn't light up.
I have the USB cable that came with it. When I plug the zune to my PC to charge it, the charging icon shows up (once again screen doesn't light) but even after hours of charging, the battery is still apparently dead.
When i plug it to the PC, the zune software doesn't see the player, and I don't see it as a hard drive (I recently did the mass storage mod to it Zune Mass Storage Mod )
The cable does have to small cuts in it (not even sure where those came from) but they seem to just be to the plastic covering and not the actual wires inside. Besides the charging icon shows so I'm guessing it's not the cable.
Restarting the zune doesn't work, it won't restart.

Any help with this?

my zune did this too, make sure the lock is off and just press and hold the Back button as you press the top of the Zune pad. This will restart it and get it working again.

Tried it and nothing. And im not sure if my warranty on it expired or not. Is there some way to check?
