It literally lasts 2 hours. It's only a month old. The only way I could've ****ed it up is throwing song on it when I got it and ****ing up the charge sequence.
Only last 2 hours!!! Dang.. but yeah try recalibrating your zunes battery. Just click the link it well lead you to the Microsoft site and will show you how to recalibrate your zunes battery. This should work in my opinion, since my friends zune 8 was like yours. But lasted for 3 hours he recalibrated the battery and it lasts alot longer now. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927710/en-us

You could use it when you first opened it, so long as you didn't drain the battery completely. The only thing you need to worry about with lithium ion batteries is making sure that they don't go dead and charging them to full capacity if you don't plan on using them for a few weeks (depending on the battery). I would return it since video is supposed to last up to 4 hours alone.

ok, this is a bit confusing. I followed what the link says...when it's fully charged does it want me to play it til it's dead again? then recharge?
