Default Why..

I'm new here, btw, with my new Zune 80GB

I converted one movie, the comebacks with imTOO zune converter, worked, synced but wasn't full screen and the audio was off.. So I googled, found this site, and look around. Anyway. I have some of my dvd rips , and I converted them using your guide, broadband 700kb/s, 320 by 240, keep framerate rate, .wmv. First one I converted was the comebacks. Zune software didn't pick it up, saying my folder had no videos, dragging it in didn't work either.. So while I was at work, I converted a few more movies using broadband 1400kb/s and the same as above still .wmv (saw a post here saying to use it), aliens v predators 2 requiem, in the name of the kingdom, Charlie Bartlett. Zune software didn't pick them up, so I clicked remove, and they appeared, odd but okay, whatever. I go to sync them now, and it has to convert them?

Says on the Zune Software "Converting AVP-R" etc.. for each title.

I don't get why it's converting it?

I guess it was a different kind of .wmv. If you really want to play it safe, let the Zune Software convert for you. When you're sleeping set your Zune Process to High Priority.

sometime converters have audio off problem.. might be codec problem.. might be your converter software problem.. when you change the bit rate of audio.. it might give your audio a bit off...

I forgot to add, after I used imTOO for the first video, I used WinAVI for the rest of the movies using your guide.

But I'll try Total Video Converter

If you have a dual core or quad core computer, use Windows media converter. It'll speed up your conversion by 2-4 times.

Also setting the priority to high in taskmanager will not necessaily speedup the converting process. Leaving your computer on all night and set the converter's process priority to high will slow it down 90% of the time.

My explainations:
1) Taskmanager consumes system resource right? 1% CPU, 3.644MB ram + 1.568MB of page file to be exact.

2) You cannot close taskmanager because once you close it, all the priority setting will all be reset to normal. Unless you know how to change the code in regedit, (it's possible and not very hard), you'll have to keep the taskmanager open all the time for the priority thing to take effect.

3) Your system is practically idle when you convert at night right? You want to change the converter's prioity to high right? Too bad all the core system process is set to real time (highier than high) by default and you cannot change it. When you're idle, almost all of the other process don't use cpu and only use very little ram. So there's basically no point setting your converter to high.

The real use of the priority system is when you're working on a word document or something while converting a video, but you want the word processor to be absolutely reponsive. That's the only use that i can think of that's reasonable.
