The following are fixes for common problems for the new zunes, both official and unofficial
Slow Transitions/Freezing
I noticed one night that a specific song with a really long name always froze, so I decided to edit the tag and shorten the name. Well, it worked! But there were other songs that froze with short names, so I knew that wasn't strictly the problem. I decided to go through my entire collection and retag everything, deleting all information that I or the Zune doesn't really use (things like lyrics, comments, publishers, etc.). I basically stripped most songs down to only the Album, Artist, Title, Track (when I could). Well, it totally worked!
Inaccurate Battery Meter:
1) Drain the battery completely. Make sure you reach the point where the zune won't start or react to any keys.
2) Recharge the zune until the battery meter turns green.
Get an air tight container, fill quater of it with white rice, then put the zune in the container, the fill the rest up with rice. Seal it. and wait about 4 days. it should work then, the rice will not damage your zune.
zune music mutes. sometimes ill be listening to music then the music will mute, but you can still hear the wheel clicker sound. but when u reset the zune you hear music. its only happened a few times but its strange. ive also got skips in the music, so im not sure if its the player or the mp3s.

This doesn't work for me. I am still getting an inaccurate battery meter. Any suggestions short of returning it? I've had a Zune 30, 80 and now the 120. The 120 is giving me problems.

Try it one more time, but this time charge first, then drain completely (until it only goes a few seconds when you restart it after it dies) then charge completely without interruption.
If this doesn't work, your battery is bad (not fixable...replaceable but not fixable.)

Is there an updated fix for the stuck pixels? I've got like 12 on my brand new 120 and I don't want to send it back...it's customized. It'll take forever to get back.
Okay i used my zune last night, it worked. Charged it for a total of about 9 hours today and it still wont turn on. When I hold in buttons an extremely fint low battery image will show up. My only two ideas are: A. the battery is shot, B. my USB cable is shot. Any ideas on anything else it might be? I figured before I rip it apart and sink $25 into I might as well check my alternatives.
