Since it's only happened the one time I killed the battery on it, i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that's the reason the message came up. I just plugged it in to sync some pRon and it went just fine, no pop up.

I'm not gonna fix anything, you might want to try reading the thread before you go poppin' off at the mouth. I'm saying that based on your pompous attitude in telling someone that they don't know what they're talking about in the advice they gave me.
im sorry but if the advise they gave you could damage your PC then it is bad advice.

if you had uninstalled you use drivers and were using a USB keyboard and mouse you wound have been able to log into your PC or use it until you got a PS2 keyboard and mouse

i have seen many a PC ruined by bad advise from forums because they either misunderstand the problem or just guess at a solution

and if this has just happened it is likely that you power supply was being taxed more than usual when you plugged it and seen as all USB ports are 1.0 with 2.0 compatibility and USB ports are deemed low priority by the PSC and can be dropped down to 1.0 by lowering their power so as i said nothing is wrong with your PC and you don't need to do any thing to it

the point I was making was your attitude in addressing the situation, just be a little more respectful of others instead of jumping to conclusions and being rude. And besides, uninstalling the USB drivers wouldn't damage my PC

This is true. Did you know if I was using a PS2 mouse/keyboard? See what I mean now about jumping to conclusions?

I hear you, and thanks for trying to help, just make sure you have all the facts before you start calling people out.

The usb mouse and keyboard will still work when you installed the usb driver.

ex. in Bios, usb mouse and keyboard will work without driver
at the time of windows installation, you'll be able to use usb mouse and keyboard without the motherboard's usb driver.

When you uninstall the usb driver, windows will load the "generic usb driver".

it doesnt work like that, when you install an OS it detects what hardware you have attached and then installs the generic drivers for that device the enable USB option in bios is to enable power and input only it doesnt have any low level drivers so if you uninstall the USB drivers and reboot you will not have any USB support when you turn it back on

and Got Zune? in my first post i did say what if you have USB devices? not that you did and an i get frustrated when people do things like this caus it can do more harm than good and its becoming and more common with computer users where they see a problem they kinda recognize and assume caus they have seen something similar that they know how to fix it or have mis read the problem there was an instance here soem where, where there was a user on a locked down work PC who wanted to know if there was a portable zune software yet and someone didnt understand that ona locked down PC you cant change anything and told the user that his OS was corrupted caus he couldn't change anything and advised a reformat, i know this isnt as serious as that but i like to try and discourage people who try and give advise about matters they dont fully understand

First of all, you told him his advice (not advise) was wrong and that he didn't know what he was talking about before you went to you hypothetical "what if he was using a USB mouse/keyboard" question. You didn't ask me what my setup was so you didn't know (which is the point I was making), and since you didn't know, you were ill-informed to decide if following his advice would have any ill affects on my computer (not being able to type or use the mouse) so you clearly jumped to a conclusion (my other point).

Even if I had taken his advice, it would not have harmed my computer in any way, shape or form.

And just so you know:

Advice - noun - an opinion or recommendation offered as a guide to action, conduct, etc. I shall act on your advice.

Advise - verb - to give counsel to; offer an opinion or suggestion as worth following: I advise you to be cautious. I advise you to be cautious.

sorry im dyslexic i often get words mixed up or mis-spelled hence the poor grammar and sentence structure as well.

but my comments were not aimed specifically at your problem so i assumed nothing about you directly, i posed a hypothetical scenario that could would have had the affects i listed. i even said what if you had that hardware set up
And i did say his advice was wrong for the problem
and at the end of my post i missed an s off guys as my comments weren't solely directed at him. But yes i did say that he didn't know what he was talking about because he was trying to fix a problem that wasn't there

is it just that my comments seemed aimed at one person or the supposed attitude that i portrayed when posting ( which as i said were out of frustration of people giving bad advice on these forums)

"USB option in bios is to enable power and input only it doesnt have any low level drivers so if you uninstall the USB drivers and reboot you will not have any USB support when you turn it back on"

You must be kidding me. If there isn't some kind of low level driver for usb keyboard in the bios or a memory chip, how are the people who have USB keyboard enter bios?

In the bios, the usb keyboard not only gets power, but is also able to exchange data with the computer without the USB driver in Windows.

This is only untrue if you're using very very old computer.

and i did say power and input meaning power and input for bios use only
windows wont use those drivers as they are BIOS drivers not windows drivers
