Album Art Fix for The Zune Device (Not the Software, the actual Device)

you know what worked for me? using a different pc, i guess my pc at home is too old i installed xp on it and updated the sp a while ago. i'm thinkin this was part of the problem.
so i took my zune to work with all my songs on it and guested on my work pc,copied all the songs from zune to library,updated the track info and transferred back to the device and everything showed up.:guitar: slow day at work

maybe u can try a different pc if available to you.

Thanks buddy. Geez re-reading my post I sound beyond bitter. Haha...well the difference in comps at work and home are that one is Xp home and the other is Xp professional (both SP2). Unfortunately there are not a lot of slow days around here, so this option would be rough sans a weekend session. That might be in the cards thou!

So did you copy your music onto your work comp w/a flash drive or what? I assume you can't copy the music from the device to the computer? Thing is I don't have a flash drive or anything so this would be a tad impractical for me. I guess maybe just trying it out would be cool. Detail what you did a little bit more for me Mike!

Actually, when I called the zune support to get me squared away they were very helpful and proactive on helping me resolve the issue. In my case it was a failure to individualize my PC. According to your 1% totals, it would seem that the problem isn't neccesarily an overall bug in the devicesoftware, but a specific issue on the PC that you are attempting to sync from. What have you tried so far to resolve the issue? Let's not blast MS first and think about the problem later....trying to develop software to take into consideration what mysterious things you've done to your PC would obviously be difficult. Also, when I've had to call Apple support on various iPod issues there were useless so MS seems to be at least willing to help in my case.

1. Have you tried to sync album art from a different PC? Did it work?
2. Have you verified that your PC where you cannot sync art has been successfully individualized? (see earlier post on this thread for a link to individualilze your PC....if you can't you will_not_get_art and is a DRM problem, not really a zune devicesoftware problem)
3. Have you verified that the album art is visible in the software for your local library content or are you just assuming that it will magically appear?
4. Have you tried deleting a track from device and attempting to re-sync it to see if art is then displayed?

actually my home pc has xp pro on it too.
it was real easy to transfer the library on my zune to my work pc, all i did was highlight every song on my zune dragged it to the sync box and clicked on copy from device, added the album art and transferred back, if you get a chance try someone elses pc. it really didnt take too long

Thanks for the condescending and presumptuous response. If you're too lazy to read thru previous posts, fine, but don't slam me w/lines like "don't blast MS and think about the problem later." First of all, you do not know that I haven't thought about the problem. Go and read the earlier album art thread that I *started* to address the problem.

Secondly, MS deserves all the blame for this problem. You're ignorant and arrogant statement about me doing "mysterious" things to my comp holds no water, because, guess what, I have done no mysterious things to my home computer. So please refrain from turning the problem around on me when *I* was the one who forked over $300 for a product that I was told would work on my computer. I too spoke to MS and, as polite as the guy was, he told me to call back in three days and that they would work on the problem. Guess what happened when i called back? "Call back in another three days we're workin on it." Right. Don't blame the makers of Zune you say? Fine. I'll blame the makers of my crap OS that can't handle it. Oh wait a minute. It's the same phone number.

Finally, the "magically appearing" art comment. Dude, what is wrong with you? Did I insult your family? Do you work at MS? Are you the guy I spoke to at zune support? I've repeatedly stated that it sucks being the first adopter because problems like this are inevitable. It sounds like it's been working for everybody but i hadn't had a chance to use it. Actually I believe it's mentioned around here somewhere. I'll let everybody know my experience.

easiest way to have album art on your zune is to EMBED the album art!!

its a little extra work.. but this works across many platforms.. so not only your zune will benefit.

i used http://www.mp3tag.de/en/

then you just navigate to the album from within the program.. select all... right click > extended tags > add cover(top right button with star). browse to the picture you want to use... save.. all done. now each mp3 will have the album art embedded.. weee

how whats the best res for album art?! im using all sorts of resolutions.. but nothing seems to give a crisp clear image while the song is playing on my zune.
