Nice dude but if your going to use your Zune within a 24 hour period do not put it too sleep just shut it off. Putting it to sleep will kill the battery if you use your Zune within 5 hours.

those don't work unless your zune in in the middle of restarting/booting up. so they're fairly safe... and it doesn't mess anything up... it might even fix any problems you have.
so it's a good idea to remember this.
just know that you'll have to sync everything again.

Great thread. I always wanted to blow my zune away and start fresh. I am confused about the last post. What are you supposed to do if the battery isn't lasting as long as it should?
I would think the deep sleep function wouldn't impact battery life any more than pausing it. I don't think the bootup on the zune is sucking that much juice. Typically i hold the pause key for 3-4 seconds and it goes to sleep. Also, depending on how long I ignore it, my zune seems to enter total shutdown mode on its own.
Press and hold the back+up buttons to reset your zune. (This is just like a rest button on xbox or ps2, it won't delete anything)
That. And the reason why if you put it to sleep it automatically turns it off, after you put it to sleep if you don't use it within 10 min. it shuts off.
