Well, I just did them. Try again.

If you delete your firmware (hold the back+center+left buttons ), can you upgrade your firmware back.

I'm having a problem where my Zune Software (v2) isn't recognizing my Zune 30. I'm pretty sure it had to do with the installation of the new firmware because it says that something went wrong and it might not work properly.

REMEDY: delete firmware and start it again... Will this work?

One can hope. It's something I'd try.

Hello all
So far I....
Used step 4 and deleted all software/firmware from my Z30
Is there any way that I can update my firmware to the one right before 2.2?
Reason being, is that I love the new firmware, but I hate the software.
I rolled back the software to original, and then my Z30 told me that I HAD to update my software in oder to sync ANYTHING!
I'm trying to restore firmware to right before 2.2 and keep my old software...
Thanks in advance

You have to do it when you see the zune screen after you turn it completely off or reset it.

I thought you simply held the "on" button long enough to shut it "off"?

That puts it in sleep mode. It kills battery because the hard drive keeps spinning

Not much, but if your not going to use it for a week for so it would be a lot. It all depends on the time intervals.

Updated it to confirm that these still work with all the newer versions of the firmware and the new zunes.

Thumbs up

CAMALEON MK and TWENTY5
Thanks a lot for your postS. You do not have idea of how much this thread (incl. image) helped me. I was trying to downgrade Zune 2.2 to 1.4 and then I found that it was the silliest thing that was impeding me to do so: wrong combination of buttons to reset the firmware (can you believe it?). Once cleared this silliness everything went smoothly. Thanks a lot.

KYSL:
We need to know all possible combination buttons. Not because they are "dangerous" we shouldn’t be able to know them. You see, in my case, it was absolutely necessary to know. To “request” for them is annoying, if you do not know that this information exist, how can you request for it? Besides in the middle of something (big, such downgrading), imagine if every single info should be requested? ; )

We all need to share. Happy day!

Are you pushing it or touching it? Try disabling the touch feature in your settings before you do it.
