If not, it wouldn't be hard to just draw a gray box over the text and replace. Whatever you want.

I've never been able to get my new Zune to work properly. I have tried to upgrade its firmware on two computers (both running WinXP SP2) with no luck. The software hangs at the "updating your device" part, or it informs me that the Zune does not have enough space to sync.
I have tried multiple resets, but never a FIRMWARE reset. Is there any risk of restoring the firmware in my case?
If I understand correctly, you do a normal reset [back+up] and [back+left+center] as the screen turns black? Will the Zune inform me if the firmware has been correctly restored to its default?

You will have to connect it to a computer running the zune software to restore it. And you don't have to worry about it telling you if it restored it because w/o a firmware it won't work, it will just keep saying connect to computer. So when you see the main menu, it will be restored.

As a new Zune owner, I hope I never need to use some of these combos, but very useful information nonetheless.
Appreciated!

I actually use down + back and pause (for 5 seconds) quite a bit. Save a little bit of battery here and there.

This good to know, especially when I catch my nephew mashing all the buttons like a speak-n-spell.

Do you have the zune80, zune8, or zune4? Because I don't think it works with those.
