Default How do I keep my preloaded content?

Hi, I am yet to obtain my Zune but it should be arriving in the mail soon. I have been hearing terrible tales of preloaded content being deleted without hope of retrival without paying? Is it true that the content is deleted once you sync the device, and how can this be avoided? Honestly, if this is the case its a serious blunder on Zune part. i mean whats the point of the preloaded content then? I will be promptly returning my Zune if this doesnt have a solution. I'm sure some people have deleted the content without even having had a chance to check it out. How sad.

My preloaded content is still on the zune, and I really can't see how it can be deleted unless you do something terribly wrong. I am almost 99% sure that the preloaded content will not be deleted.

This is an absolute lie, and it needs to be cleared up.
When you first sync you Zune with your computer it DOES NOT delete the preloaded content.

As soon as you sync you Zune, it will ask you to give it a name, blah, blah, blah, you'll follow a few steps, and then you'll finally make it to the actual Zune software.
From there, you need to select your Zune device from the quick menu on the left side of the application. It will appeare in that list as soon as you plug in your Zune device. From there, go into the song select, and simply select every song you wish to keep. Now, and HERE IS THE IMPORTANT PART, select, and drag all of the songs you want to copy to your computer to the "Sync" list (the blank spaces on the right side of your screen). Once everything has been moved there, the icon will change from "Synce Device" to "Copy from Device" or something similar.
Works the same way with the videos, and pictures.

The only time your Zunes content will be deleted is 1) When your reformat the Zune 2) When you relocate the Zune and don't choose to use it as a guests, and 3) When Zune randomly decides to start deleting songs.

Good luck with your Zune and welcome to the...eh, nevermind, it's not that social yet. ;-)

For some reason the first time I started up my Zune there was no pre-loaded content.

Dunno why. Got it the day it came out at Best Buy. Don't see any way I could've deleted it before I even plugged the thing into my computer.

Oh well, it's not that important.

The pre-loaded content was mostly crap. I think it only shows up if you go to the playlists and select the "Zune Gems". All the songs are there. I don't remember them appearing on my Zune when I looked by song.

Doing a hard reset does *not* delete the content.

I'm on my second zune(album art problem, which still exists) and i didnt even know there was preloaded content on my zune since my first one didnt have, so i guess it depends on the device because ive synced my new zune several times and i have all the content.

ironically the preloaded stuff doenst show any album art in my library but does show on the device, and the music i installed shows art in my library and NOT on the device.
